The Balanced Sheet is a boutique financial management firm specializing in accounting, bookkeeping and tax services for professionals, freelancers, LLCs, S Corporations, and their owners.
We help business owners organize and understand their financial information so that they feel confident making operational decisions today and customize solutions to help them meet their goals tomorrow, next month and next year. Our team works together to utilize each strength we individually have – devotion to numbers, passion for organization and processes, clear communication and love of teaching – to guide each client to solutions that work for their business, their family and their goals.
Our team believes that knowledge is the most empowering and valuable asset that we share with clients. Christy Ntuk
CEO & Tax Accountant
Christy is a bookkeeper, tax accountant and resolution specialist. Christy created The Balanced Sheet in 2020, following a decade’s worth of experience in public accounting. After working with a Top 25 Firm, she found that working 1:1 with business owner’s to be extremely rewarding. She has always loved teaching and saw the “extra time” during the pandemic as a chance to expand her tax and planning knowledge and incorporate this knowledge into real action plans and training for her clients.
Originally resistant to the idea of accounting, Christy received a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business. Upon discovering that organization – Christy’s other love – was a huge part of accounting, she returned to the University of Maryland where she received a B.S. in Accounting. She is a certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor.
A Silver Spring native, Christy loves working in her community as a volunteer. When she’s not busy running The Balanced Sheet, she and her husband work on local building projects, disaster relief and teach. She does volunteer accounting work for several organizations and does public speaking on various accounting related topics. Christy loves cooking and travel – next on her bucket list is Scotland.
Olivia Bacon
Executive Assistant
Olivia Bacon is a skilled and well-rounded administrative professional, who knows the importance of time management. With over ten years in several administrative roles, Olivia turned her expertise into a small business and has partnered with The Balanced Sheet. We have felt the positive impact of her joining our team and know client support and communication has benefited in a large way.
She holds a degree in Business Marketing from the University of South Florida. She uses her knowledge to passionately build business relationships and provide trusted support in managing their overwhelming day-to-day tasks efficiently and effectively.
Olivia has become an asset and resource by contributing to mutual business growth and success. When she is not behind her laptop working, she can be found traveling the world with her husband or volunteering to help people learn about the Bible.
Cherty Jean-Jacques
Tax Accountant
Cherty is a Bookkeeper and Tax Accountant. Cherty joined The Balance Sheet in 2021.
With nearly 10 years of experience in the accounting profession, she’s dedicated to providing business owners with the knowledge to make financial decisions. She acquired skills in financial statement reporting and analysis at several top 25 public accounting firms. These skills complement her work with small businesses, not-for-profits, and real estate professionals.
In pursuit of her passion of analyzing numbers, Cherty received her B.S. in Accounting from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. She has expanded her knowledge of QuickBooks Online to better serve her clients.
When she is not assisting her clients, Cherty is giving back to her community through volunteer work and searching for new baking recipes.
Ji Cloteaux
Tax Accountant
Ji is a bookkeeper and tax accountant. Ji joined The Balanced Sheet in 2022 and has taken time to expand her knowledge on various topics relating to QuickBooks online. Her clients rely on her for accurate record-keeping and financial reporting to succeed, so she makes every effort to help them.
It all started with Ji’s love of numbers. She received a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin, where she fell in love with Texas culture and life. To pursue her passion for research and the organization of information, she completed her Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin. She is a certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor with years of experience in bookkeeping, financial software support, education, and research.
When she’s not crunching numbers, she’s helping her community as a volunteer in the Washington DC metro area and discovering new places to hike and travel with her two rescue pups. She loves reading historical fiction and taking long road trips.
Alexandra Brasier
Special Projects Assistant
Alexandra is an operational powerhouse who thrives in the back-end of workflows and process improvements, with expertise in property management and customer success. She became a virtual assistant following 12 years of corporate experience, to help aligned business owners optimize their priorities and goals. Her clients appreciate her thorough work and attention to detail with collaborated projects.
She holds a B.A. degree in Public Relations and Communications Studies from California State University, Sacramento. Though she did not pursue a PR career path, she has applied this education to her corporate experiences relating to branding, sales & adoption, customer success, and asset management within the property management space.
When she’s not working, she lives for dog-sitting so her two rescue pups have consistent play dates. She also loves to travel with her husband and in-laws to new destinations for fresh and new life perspectives.
